The short answer
Live music is how Helen spends its evenings. Oktoberfest bands play every night right now, restaurants book weekend sets, and two wineries run free music on the porch and the hillside. The trick is knowing who actually has a schedule, because several venues post theirs only on social media.

Pairing dinner with a show
Bigg Daddy's is the easiest combination: the kitchen serves until 10, the bar stays open to midnight, and the stage is in the same room on Friday and Saturday. For a steak and a band, Cowboys & Angels runs from 11 AM to 10 PM. At The Heidelberg, eat downstairs and head up to the Bierhimmel; the dining room closes at 9 or 10, so don't count on food late.
Wine drinkers can skip dinner entirely and catch a free afternoon set at Habersham Winery, which has weekend music through October 31, or an evening set at Creekstone through mid-December.

Get there early
Fall color peaks around the end of October, and weekend nights fill early. Plan dinner before the music starts.

Is there a cover charge?
None is posted for the restaurants. The Oktoberfest Festhalle charges admission, except on Sundays. Habersham Winery's weekend music is free.
