Three Distinct November Weekends
- Oct 31-Nov 2 (Oktoberfest closing): Costume night Saturday, last Festhalle music, dropping leaves. Crowds peak. Lodging at October-peak rates ($400-600 cabins).
- Nov 8-21 (the quiet window): Smallest crowds and cheapest rates of the year. Mountain hiking is excellent — bare trees give expansive views. Couples retreat weekend. Cabins drop to $130-220 weekday, $200-320 weekend.
- Nov 27-30 (Thanksgiving + Lighting weekend): The holiday season starts. Lighting of the Village Saturday at 6 PM, Christkindlmarkt opens Friday-Sunday. Family-friendly energy. Lodging fully booked 4-6 weeks out.
What's Open in November
- Year-round: Anna Ruby Falls (limited winter parking after Nov 22), Christmas Shoppe, all downtown restaurants, all beer halls, Habersham Winery, Helen Mountain Coaster, Babyland General, Hardman Farm, the Mountain Trail Park.
- Festhalle: Open daily through November 2, then closed for the season. Reopens for Oktoberfest 2027 in early September.
- Brasstown Bald: Summit road usually closes early-mid November for snow risk. Check ahead.
- Tubing: Closed since Labor Day weekend. Reopens Memorial Day 2027.
- Christkindlmarkt: Opens November 28, 2026 — first weekend Nov 28-30, second weekend Dec 5-7.
