ExploreHelen.com ("we") is a tourism information site. This page describes what we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

• Newsletter signups: when you enter your email in one of our signup forms we store the address, the date, which form you used and the IP address it came from (so we can stop abuse). We then email you a link to confirm the address.
• Email activity: the service that delivers our email tells us whether a message was delivered, opened or clicked, and whether it bounced. We use that to keep the list healthy.
• Analytics: Google Analytics, loaded through Cloudflare, records anonymized page visits, referrers, and general location (country/region).

How we use it

• We send The Bavarian Beat (a short welcome series of trip tips, a monthly events letter and a strange true story about once a week) only to people who signed up for it on this site.
• We look at aggregate analytics to decide what content to publish.
• We never sell or rent your email. The only company that receives it is Brevo, which delivers our email for us.

Unsubscribing

Every email has an unsubscribe link, and email apps that offer a one-click unsubscribe button work too. Either way you're off the list right away. We keep a note that the address unsubscribed so we never email it again; if you'd rather we delete it entirely, write to us and we will.

Booking map

Our live rental map is provided by Stay22, which may set its own cookies. Bookings made through it can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.
