After a day on the trails or a long Oktoberfest night, a massage or a hot tub is a good idea. Helen has one day spa in town, a few more within an hour or so, and cabins with hot tubs all around. Solasta Spa is the closest; the rest are drives, so plan them as part of a day out.

Solasta Spa in Helen
Solasta sits inside Valhalla Resort Hotel and calls itself North Georgia's premier day spa. The two treatments the spa highlights are the Sautee Rainforest Steam/Shower, where you apply a cleanser, scrubs and mud yourself, and the Heavenly Head Spa. Book through Vagaro or call 706-878-2200; gift cards are sold too.
A steam after a long hike is hard to beat. Book the late-afternoon slot and you're back downtown for dinner.
Lucille's, Serenity and Oasis
Lucille's Mountain Top Inn & Spa is the nearest option outside town, in the Sautee Nacoochee valley, and also offers a gourmet breakfast for guests. Serenity in the Mountains is in Blue Ridge, about an hour and 20 minutes away, so it works best as a stop on a Blue Ridge day; guest suites let you stay over. Mountain Laurel Creek Inn puts its Oasis spa outside Dahlonega, about 45 minutes south.

Yoga and retreats

Yes. Solasta Spa at Valhalla Resort Hotel (688 Bahn Innsbruck) is open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 AM to 4:30 PM, and takes bookings at 706-878-2200 or on Vagaro. It's the only spa the Helen visitor bureau lists.
