The Festhalle during Oktoberfest
Right now, the biggest beer garden in town is Oktoberfest. Helen's 56th annual celebration runs through Sunday, November 1, 2026, at the Festhalle on Edelweiss Strasse, nightly since October 1. The Third Annual Stein Holding Competition is Saturday, October 10, 6 to 8 PM, and a Halloween costume party is Saturday, October 31. Pretzels, wurst and music on Main Street
The Heidelberg lists a Riesenbrezel (giant pretzel with herb butter, $10.95), bratwurst and knockwurst platters, and sausage sampler for $21.95. Upstairs, the Bierhimmel Konzerthalle books bands year-round, though no current schedule is posted online, so check the restaurant's Facebook page. For a casual pint outside, the Troll Tavern patio sits right on the river.
