Under 6 is always free, and a Friday/Saturday pass is $25 for adults and $12 for kids 6-12. Active and retired military get in free with a military ID; veterans get a discount. Prices can change, so confirm with the Helen Chamber of Commerce.
The door staff check ID for every adult, the building is smoke-free and no pets are allowed (trained service animals are welcome). The Festhalle has live entertainment, food and beer. Tickets are sold at the door; advance tickets go only to groups of 25 or more.

Getting there from Athens
It is about 65 miles and 1 hour 35 minutes without traffic: US-441 north, GA-105, then GA-17 into Helen. The drive page has the steps.
On October Saturdays, roads near town and the downtown lots fill as the day goes on. Park once: the city has free lots east of Main Street and one city pay lot on Edelweiss Strasse, and private lots post their rates. The parking guide has the details.
Sunday admission is free and the Festhalle closes at 7 PM, which makes it an easy last stop before the drive home.

Where to stay for Oktoberfest
Downtown lodging means you can walk to the Festhalle and nobody drives after dinner. Staying in the Nacoochee Valley or near Cleveland is quieter but means a drive back.
