Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf
This is the one in the middle of everything: the corner of Munich Strasse and Edelweiss Strasse, across from the Festhalle and less than a block from downtown. The single 18-hole course is built around pirate legends, with caves to putt through, footbridges and waterfalls. It's also barrier-free, so wheelchairs and strollers roll the whole way around. Kids 3 and under play free with a paying adult.
Bavarian Mountain and Alpine Mini Golf
Bavarian Mountain Miniature Golf & Arcade has two 18-hole courses with waterfalls and rushing streams, and the visitors bureau calls the view the best in Helen. An arcade is on site. Alpine Mini Golf keeps it relaxed and serves Mayfield ice cream on site, which is its own kind of reason to go. Rates and hours for both change, so call before you drive over.
Go-karts, laser tag and the coaster
When the putters go back on the rack, these are the next stops. Helen Fun Factory is the one to know on a rainy day, with electric go-karts, laser tag and a miniature driving town for little kids. The Georgia Mountain Coaster is the ride kids ask for by name.
